Uno Stato così omertoso non merita alcun tipo di rispetto da parte dei propri cittadini. E' un comportamento inqualificabile. Mi provoca ribrezzo, rabbia e voglia di dare alle fiamme tutto. Il fatto che sia capitato a Bologna è ancora più grave.

Salve il Negozio NON è più affidabile!! si prega di aggiornare o rimuovere l'articolo per rispetto di chi ha problemi e per chi si trovare nella situazione di acquistare per aver letto pareri positivi non più corrispondenti al vero, dovendo aspettare mesi prima di un rimborso e ricevendo lettere di scuse standard molto fastidiose, leggete le nuove recensioni per avere un riscontro della situazione reale, Grazie!

You're comparing different programs. The Go version just counts the numbers but the C version creates another array and copies data there. Memory operations on volumes exceeding cache size are very costly, this is where C version might spend a lot of time. Remove everything after line 53 in C version and then do the comparison, that would be fair.

Thanks for your comment. I just wanted, as commented on the reddit thread dedicated to this post, that I wanted to see a quick comparison between the two languages (in matter of ease of use, also!). It was not really a race, otherwise I would have tried to optimize more my code.

You are right, I should have included more informations. I am using the gcc shipped (and maybe updated) with Ubuntu 12.04

gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5)

While for go I have

go version go1.0.2

Comparing performance of programming languages isn't entirely meaningless, and languages do impact the ability to optimize (consider Java, which cannot really be optimized until run time).

We have been doing these kinds of comparisons since the 60's, and they spur the migration of optimization techniques across languages, just as you imply. And this is a good thing.

Performance is not a property of programming languages, but of language implementations. Without knowing which version of gcc (or clang, or Intel's C compiler) you're using makes this performance comparison kind of meaningless. Heck, you don't even say if you're using 8g or 6g or 5g or gccgo. At any rate, I suspect that a look at the assembly output from both would show that the go compiler is just performing a smarter optimization somewhere which we could then probably borrow from go's optimizer and add to llvm or gcc or icc or ... (pick one, you don't tell us!).

You can use "alacarte", an application to graphically add elements to menu.
It's quite simple: launch alacarte, then add a new item and fill the fields with "Sublime", "sublime" then get the icon from "/usr/lib/Sublime Text 2/Icon/48x48/sublime_text.png".
Before this you must do
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/Sublime\ Text\ 2/sublime_text /usr/bin/sublime
from terminal, that lets you launch sublime typing "sublime" from terminal

è vero il risultato è carino, mi piace.
chissà se c'era modo con svg o con i canvas, in modo da non dover usare un font... solo per ragioni semantiche.
